It is stated in the book Çiyayê Kurmênc (Efrîn): A Geographical Study: Çaqmaqa Mezin and Çaqmaqa Biçûk (The Flint). Çaqmaq is a Kurdish word meaning "flint stone," and the site of the village contains clay rocks. They are two villages: Çaqmaqçik, Çaqmaqa Biçûk, the Small Flint.
Stats: 703 inhabitants, 88 hectares, 6 km distance, 821 m altitude. It is a medium sized village located on the northern slope of Çiyayê Bilêl.
It is stated in the book Efrîn... Her River and Her Green Hills that Çaqmaqa Biçûk is a village in Çiyayê Kurmênc following the Reco district, Efrîn area, Heleb governorate. It is a small village located in the central part of the mentioned mountain, on the northern slope of a limestone height. It overlooks agricultural lands with red soil to the north and west. It is 6 km away from the town of Reco towards the northeast.
It is bordered to the north by a slope and a plain planted with olive trees and the village of Çaqmaqa Mezin; to the south by a high mountain range filled with forests and oak trees and the villages of Zerkanlî and Çobanlî; to the east by a deep watercourse, a mountain range, and the village of Elemder which is close to it and located 800 m away; and to the west by a mountain range and the village of Cênceley. Due to the presence of a valley in the eastern part of the village, the eastern section is separated into two parts: (right of the valley, left of the valley).
The number of its houses is about 25, and its age is about 150 years. The origin of this village goes back to the village of Çaqmaqa Mezin, whose residents separated from the original village after they settled in the lands of the current village, which originally belonged to the residents of the village of Çaqmaqa Mezin. Its old residences are stone and mud with wooden roofs, while the modern ones are cement and spread towards the west.
An electricity network is available, as well as a leveled, unpaved dirt road, the Riya Cênceley-Çaqmaqa Biçûk (Cênceley-Çaqmaqa Biçûk road). The village drinks from cisterns dug next to houses where rainwater collects in winter, and currently, they have dug artesian wells near the houses. There is a joint school between Cênceley and Çaqmaqa Biçûk 500 m away.
The residents work in rain fed agriculture (olives, grains, vines) on an area amounting to 88 hectares, and in raising sheep and goats. Among the holders of higher degrees in the village is Husên Hebeş (PhD in Philosophy in Linguistic Sciences, Russia).
