The following is stated in the book Çiyayê Kurmênc (Efrîn): A Geographical Study by Dr. Mihemed Ebdo Elî:

Entry: Kifr / Kefîr.

Statistics: 576 inhabitants, 350 hectares, 17 km distance, 220 m altitude.

Xûrî Bersûm states that "Kefîr" is a Syriac name meaning the ungrateful, the infidel, or the small village. It is a small village located at the end of the southern slope of Çiyayê Bûzîk, on the right bank of Çemê Efrînê.

According to the book Efrîn... Her River and Her Green Hills by the writer Ebdulrehman Mihemed from the village of Qetme:

Kefîr is a village in the Efrîn valley, administratively belonging to the villages of the central Efrîn district, Aleppo governorate. It is a small village situated on the southern slope of a small plateau located to the southeast of Çiyayê Bûsît, which itself is situated to the southeast of Çiyayê Helebê, on the right bank of Çemê Efrînê, atop a cliff rising 20 meters above the river level. It lies 17 km south of the city of Efrîn. Its soil is clay-based.

The village is bordered to the north by a fertile plain planted with olive trees, pomegranate trees, and vegetables, irrigated by wells from Çemê Efrînê, artesian wells, and the village of Kewkabe. To the south, at a distance of 100 meters, lies the valley of Çemê Efrînê, a plain, the Riya Xezawiyê-Efrîn (Xezawiyê-Efrîn road), and the village of Burc Ebdalo. To the east, there is a mountainous height, the valley of Çemê Efrînê, the village of Basûta, and the mountain chain of Çiyayê Seman and Lêlûn. To the west lies a fertile agricultural plain planted with pomegranate and olive trees, and the village of Kefer Zît on a high mountainous elevation.

The number of houses in the village is about 35, and the age of the village is approximately 200 years. Its old houses are made of mud with roofs of reeds from Çemê Efrînê or zinc sheets, while modern houses are built of stone and reinforced concrete. The origin of the old village consists of sheep herders who inhabited this site; they were not the true owners of the village. The village has an electricity network, state-provided drinking water, a primary school, and a paved road passing through the center of the village connecting to several other villages.

There is an old shrine in the center of the village called Ziyareta Şêx Mihemed. The inhabitants work in the cultivation of grains, cotton, and sugar beets, as well as orchards planted with pomegranates, apples, and vegetables, irrigated from Çemê Efrînê via pumps or through drilled artesian wells. This is in addition to raising sheep and goats specifically. Çemê Efrînê passes 200 meters south of the village.

Among its most important old families are its earliest inhabitants who are not currently present, known as the family of Îsa and Ehmed Setaf, the founders of the village.

The village Mukhtar: Ebdulrehman Hemîd Hesen.
