The following is stated in the book جبل الكرد (عفرين) دراسة جغرافية Çiyayê Kurmênc (Efrîn): A Geographical Study by د. محمد عبدو علي Dr. Mihemed Ebdo Elî:

Reca, Hemo Raco (660 inhabitants, 15km, 690m):

The village derived its name from Rec, and it is believed to be a female proper name. One of the residents of the village from the nineteenth century was called Ĥusn Rec, and the letter "a" in Kurdish is a feminizing suffix, meaning that this Ĥusn was attributed to his mother Rec who gave her name to the village.

It is a small village located on the southern slopes of the Xastiya highlands.

The following is stated in the book عفرين .... نهرها وروابيها الخضراء Efrîn... Her River and Her Green Hills by the writer عبدالرحمن محمد Ebdulrehman Mihemed from the village of Qetme:

Hemo Raco: A village in the Mountain of the Kurds, administratively belonging to the district of Mabeta, Efrîn region, Heleb governorate. It is a small village located in the middle part of the mentioned mountain, on the summit of a limestone and marly plateau that is furrowed and surrounded by watercourses. Forests and scrub are spread across its slopes. It is located 12km southwest of the town of Mabeta toward the southwest.

It is bordered to the north by a mountainous height planted with olive trees and the village of Qişle. It is bordered to the south by a harsh slope planted with olive trees, a deep watercourse, a mountain chain, and the village of Misto Aşûr. To the west, at a distance of 50m, lies the nearby village of Elî Caro. To the east, there is a slope and a torrential valley planted with olive, walnut, and almond trees, and the village of Cumazanli.

Its soil is clay based, over which pastures and forests are spread. The number of its houses reaches 35 houses, and its age is approximately 250 years. Its old houses are made of stone and mud with flat wooden roofs, while the modern ones are cement and spread on the edges of the village to the north and south. An electricity network, a small mosque, and a primary school are available in the village.

The village drinks from cisterns where rainwater collects in winter, and currently from artesian wells drilled next to the homes. The residents work in rain fed agriculture (150 hectares), producing olives, grains, and legumes alongside the raising of sheep and goats. A paved road connects it to the district center, passing through its center to several neighboring villages. Among its most important families is the Hemo Raco family, after whom the village was named.
