General Information
Yağmur Dede is a shrine between the villages of Dargirê and Mabeta in the Mabeta sub-district.
The Name
The name combines the Turkish yağmur, "rain," with dede, the Alevi elder-saint (welî) title borne by other shrines of the Mabeta district, such as Ehmed Dede at Dargirê and Dede Elî at Mabeta.1

The element "Dede" is the Alevi-Bektashi elder-saint title common to the Mabeta-district shrines; cf. the documented Ehmed Dede (Dargirê) and Dede Elî (Mabeta). "Yağmur" is Turkish for "rain." This is a note on the components of the name only; no ritual or dedication for this specific shrine is documented in the available sources. ↩
