The Kêlşîr shrine, also identified locally as Gilyaqîb, is one of the shrines of Ĥec Xelîl.

Kêlşîr is on an olive-covered rise near Ĥec Xelîl, below the village and the road.1

Dedicated Figure & Sacred Family

In a local woman's account, Mehemed Elî, Şêxmûs, and Bilîlê Hebeş are three brothers whose sacred places lie around the village. Mehemed Elî is at the principal shrine, Şêxmûs is nearby, and Bilîlê Hebeş is on the mountain. She identifies Gilyaqîb as their sister and says that her place is called Kêlşîr.

She is not completely certain of the identification. After recounting the grave story, she says that she does not know for sure whether the figure was Gilyaqîb, but that the place was called Kêlşîr. She then repeats that Gilyaqîb was the sister of Mehemed Elî.2

Lactation Practice and Grave Story

Local women visit Kêlşîr when seeking breast milk. The woman says that women went there in relation to their milk and would obtain milk.

She explains the practice through the story attached to the grave. Gilyaqîb died, and her child was at her grave and suckled from her breast there. The woman connects this event directly with the place-name Kêlşîr.3
