Pîr Seîd, also called Şêx Seîd, Şêx Sîdo, or Şêx Sîdî, is a Yezidi shrine of Feqîra in the Cindires sub-district.34

Pîr Seîd is a different shrine from Şêx Cinêd, the other shrine of Feqîra. The Ax û Welat host notes that the village has two shrines.2 A separate shrine called Şêx Seîd stands at Bênê in the Şêrawa sub-district.

Physical & Landscape Features

The shrine stands in the middle of the village. It has been neglected and is now surrounded by houses. Dr. Mihemed Ebdo Elî, the historian and geographer of the Afrin region, describes its building and its rituals as traditional.5

Dedicated Figure & Historical Roots

A village elder explains that the shrine is known by two names. Some call it Şêx Seîd and others Pîr Seîd, and the elder says that historically the correct name is Pîr Seîd. He adds that the shrine is very old.1
