Physical & Landscape Features

The shrine stands at the highest point of the village, beside the rock of Kevrê Qendîl, and it serves as the village cemetery. A cistern at the site collects rainwater and is used for ablution when there is a death, though it now stands dry.1 Mihemed Ebdo Elî places the shrine on the ridge east of the Qere Baba shrine.2

Dedicated Figure & Historical Roots

The tomb is said to be that of a girl, which the Turkish name Sare Qîz reflects, while a neighbouring tomb is said to be that of a brother.3
