Şêx Ebdulqadir is a tekiye, a Sufi lodge, of the Rifa'i Sufi order in Bablîtê in the Efrîn sub-district.
Dedicated Figure & Historical Roots
The sheikhs of the tekiye belong to the Rifa'i Sufi order.1 Şêx Ebdulhemîd Xezal was the sheikh and head of the Amîrat tribe. He died about eight years before the Ax û Welat channel filmed its visit to Bablîtê (Episode 1070), and his son Şêx Ebdulqadir Xezal took his place, receiving guests and resolving disputes in his guest room, his door open to all.2
Ritual Practices & Beliefs
The sheikhs treated illnesses through prayers, recitation of the Quran, and dhikr, the devotional practice of repeating the names and praises of God.3
